Will the use of component video cables increase the picture quality from my DVD player to my new HDTV?

I just bought a 32 “LCD TV 720p. The DVD quality is not as strong as I expected it to be. I am not yet ready to upgrade to Blu-ray. I am using composite cables (red, white, yellow). I noticed my DVD player has component video output and my TV obviously has a component input. I understand that the audio will be independent of video cables using este. Will component significantly improve the image quality of DVD?

The component cable will improve the quality of your picture. You should also use an optical cable for the audio portion. If you have HDMI connection on your tv and dvd player then I would recommend it. HDMI cable will carry the video and audio signal. Are you also using a surround sound receiver, if so connect it to this then your tv. Hope this will help you out.
